How We Help

In the Spring of 2007, DEBOTG was established. The following are activities in which we have also been involved:

Continually send hospitality greetings to military members and their families (illness, birth, etc.)
Guest Speakers at Christiana Rotary Club
261st Fall Fun Day - provided volunteers and hotdogs for the event
166th Security Forces deployment - provided gift bags and Gift of Choice cards.
Computers donated to Army Reserve family (compliments of Valero, Delaware City)
Guest Speakers at AstraZeneca’s Military Support Group meeting
Provided refreshments for unit’s return after sudden death of one of the soldiers in training at Fort Dix (2 hours notice)
Craft table provided for Army’s 153rd family Christmas party
Provided funds to Army family with medical hardship
Wilmington Christmas Parade – distributed information post cards

Presented Gift of Choice cards to all Airmen deployed from the Air National Guard during the December, January, February and March deployments (11 deployments of approx. 28 airmen each)
Provided craft table for children at Chief’s Christmas party, along with volunteers for the event.
Provided Wal-Mart gift cards to family who lost home
Provided gift card to family who was displaced because of fire - Grocery store gift card to purchase initial grocery items for rental unit provided by insurance company
Valentine Fundraising Event – Romantic dinner for two with entertainment

AstraZeneca Fundraising Event – “Share the Gift of LOVE to Our Troops” Gift of Choice Card
Chili Cook-Off fundraising event sponsored by the Office of Human Resources at New Castle County Government
Gift of choice cards presented to Delaware Marine Reserve unit during family day event
Provided gift card to military member for baby supplies after personal family emergency (while member was deployed)
Provided funds for the Delaware National Guard Family Egg Hunt
Mailed 422 Blockbuster gift cards to all Air, Army and Army Reserve families with deployed military members.
Provided funds for Teen Council Weekend event.
Provided funds and bottled water for return of 485th Reserve unit.
Provided financial resources for requested popcorn machine, cameras and picture development to Camp Colwell (week long summer camp for DE Army and Air National Guard children)
Provided funds and bottled water for 153rd homecoming
Provided requested funds for DE National Guard Family Program, Unit Family Readiness & FRG Training

Participated in Armed Forces Day at AztraZeneca
Fundraising event at DE Blue Rock Memorial Day weekend game
Fundraising at Jefferson School Family Fun Day in Georgetown, DE
Gift of choice cards presented to Delaware Navy unit to be sent to deployed sailors
